How to choose
- Online routing plugins (openrouteservice, TravelTime) call a web API and need an API key. QGIS's built-in Network analysis tools (shortest path, service area) run offline on your own road layer.
- For isochrones and travel-time polygons, ORS Tools and TravelTime are the quickest. For your own network data, check that it is topologically clean first.
- Public transport and multimodal routing need timetable (GTFS) data, so choose a plugin that supports it explicitly.
