About
Wake streams live AIS vessel positions into QGIS and shows them moving on the map — track your current map view or draw an area to watch. Choose a data source: aisstream.io (global, free account and API key), Open Waters/aiscast (free token), or Digitraffic (Finland/Baltic, no key). Vessels are coloured by type and rotated by heading, with name, flag, speed and destination; busy areas cluster into counted badges, and a toggle shows only moving vessels. Built on a provider abstraction so other AIS sources can be added. Data is live only — Wake does not replay history.
