About
VFM Dataset Inspector provides basic structural and integrity inspection for .vfm files based on the VFM 1.3 Core Freeze Candidate specification. It reads the VFM header and root directory, checks CRC32C and SHA-256 integrity fields, reports sections, and includes a small sample dataset for testing. VFM is an experimental cross-GIS interoperability protocol and is not currently an OGC, ISO, or IETF standard. No external Python dependencies are required.
