About
DEM-o-gorgon inverts a digital elevation model (peaks become pits, valleys become ridges) and applies a ready-made dark style with red hillshade and glow. Fun for outreach, useful for analysis: inverted DEMs help extract ridgelines and divides with standard hydrology tools. Created by Daniel Ibarra-Marinas (UAT) and Alejandro Fenollar-Rueda (Universidad de Alicante). DEM-o-gorgon invierte un modelo digital de elevaciones (los picos se vuelven fosas y los valles, crestas) y le aplica un estilo oscuro con sombreado rojo y brillo. Divertido para divulgar y útil para analizar: los DEM invertidos sirven para sacar crestas y divisorias con las herramientas de hidrología de siempre. Creado por Daniel Ibarra-Marinas (UAT) y Alejandro Fenollar-Rueda (Universidad de Alicante).
